Ableton Live works fine, however your audio hardware and 3rd party plugins might have issues. So check them first. Use Superduper to make a free bootable backup to an external drive first, then if you don’t like the new OS or have some compatibility issues you can wipe your drive and restore the backup.
Mac vst2 ableton. Re: macOS High Sierra compatibility (release) Post by Khazul » Wed Sep 27, 2017 2:31 am Well - live 64 bit (just realised I had 9.7.2 still on my mac) did actually start up - eventually after rescanning all the plugins and some brief playing with it hasnt caused it to crash yet. Is high sierra recommended for ableton 10? Post by scottie b » Tue Feb 13, 2018 3:29 pm i haven't updated to high sierra (always scared of updates), but should i be doing it with ableton 10? Live 9 is not officially compatible with Mojave. The last OS version that is officially supported with Live 9 is 10.13 High Sierra. Although Live 9 may work with 10.14, we cannot guarantee 100% functionality. So I finally took the plunge and upgraded to High Sierra. Everything is moving swimingly except for two things. Wondering if anyone else has seen this happen. Ableton Live 9.5, Focusrite Clarett 4Pre, and Push 2. Live takes like a year to boot up now and I find after a number of reboots of the Push 2, will launch, and finally see the Push hardware.
Considering the new diskformat (APFS), as well as normal caution, upgrading to macOS 10.13 'High Sierra', getting released on 25 September, is not something to do willy-nilly without info-gathering, reflection and some planning.
