Computer MIDI Keyboard. For this, the Computer MIDI Keyboard button in the top right corner of Live needs to be turned on. Up to Live 9, it's on by default. If it's not, you can turn it on with a click. From Live 10, it's now off by default. To turn it on, either click on the icon or press the M key. Just select the section you’re working on and press ⌘ + L (ctrl + L) to activate the loop. To turn it off, just click on the loop switch on the upper right corner of Ableton. For the longest time I tried to figure out to fully utilize my Yamaha Motif XF8 in Ableton Live 9 because the solution was never posted, or that I was the only one trying to do so. Well I figured it out and I would like to post this for anyone else trying to do the same.
